Am I too old to get back into shape?

NO. is the simple answer. I have had students both private and group with differing abilities when they first come to train at Oriental Sports Academy. All have different needs and wants when it comes to getting back into shape. Age has nothing to do with the ability to return to a healthy lifestyle.
Convincing yourself that you want to feel better and then finding a proficient teacher that can address both the mental and physical parts of training. Half of my effort is motivating the student to get them through the very difficult beginning stage. Once the student gains confidence, the physical component needs to be catered to the needs of the individual.
I begin by developing functional fitness. That means having the strength to do everyday activities without pain. Then we start developing the athletic body which for every student is different depending on their interest.
I have had 76 year old women, quadriplegic's, students with Downs Syndrome, and the blind. All have learned and gained from training.

The most important thing for a new student
The glitz is less important than the content of the Master Instructor.
Mastery
Simplify. It is not necessary to do many things ok, but more important to do a few things well.
